Arlene Lucille Douglas Thompson, 102, passed away on June 22, 2026.She was born in Fredonia, New York, on January 16, 1924, to Harry and Cleo Douglas. Her husband of 65 years, Dale Thompson, predeceased her in 2014.Survived by Son, Gene (Bianca) and Daughter Cheryl Daniel (Don); 4 Grandchildren- Mike LeClare (Nicole); Kate Stager (Nick); Paulie Daniel Lundberg; Melanie Schwindt (Jeremiah); 7 Great Grandchildren – Molly and Elijah Leclare; Zoey and Olivia Stager; Cameron Lundberg; Jameson and Lillian Schwindt.Upon moving to Arizona with her parents, she worked at Valley National Bank as a teller. From 1963 to 1975, Mom was co-owner of Thompson Jewelers with Dale. Upon the sale of the business, travel was one of the items she enjoyed. She visited all states except Hawaii and Delaware; they cruised the Panama Canal for her 50th Wedding Anniversary and did a European Tour. In addition, she was part of the Good Sam Camping Group, traveling and participating in many of their events.She was involved with social and service projects for over 60 years being an active member of Sorority Beta Sigma Phi. In addition, she was a longtime member of 1st Congregational Church and Christ Presbyterian and volunteered at El Dorado Hospital.In 2020, she moved to the Cascades of Tucson. Active at many of the events-one of her favorites was Trivia. She always amazed us with her recollection of answers. Books on Tape were a Godsend for her since she became legally blind from Macular Degeneration.What is the secret for 102 years----I cannot say but Mom liked cheese, ice cream and See's Chocolate candy!!
