Barbara Gladys Lippincott (Morris), age 87, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Barbara was born on May 25, 1939, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gerald and Thelma Morris. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City in 1957, where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Gene Lippincott. Barbara and Gene shared a timeless love. After they married, they remained together for 8 years until his passing in 2012.
After graduating from high school, Barbara entered the workforce, working as a mail room clerk at the Post Office while also taking on other jobs. She cultivated many interests throughout her life, taking hobby classes in baking, ceramics, and crafting. Barbara also loved to travel and visited all but two of the 50 states. In addition to her many hobbies, she developed a lifelong passion for Elvis Presley. She collected all kinds of Elvis memorabilia, including her treasured Elvis plates, which remain in their original packaging to this day.
Barbara was a multifaceted woman; just as sweet as she could be, with a spicy side when the moment called for it. Deeply devoted to her family, she never hesitated to speak her mind or share her opinions. Though she could be cantankerous at times, she was fiercely protective and loved deeply. Barbara's unfiltered honesty was often a source of laughter for those who knew and loved her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; Gene and Thelma Morris; her husband Gene Lippincott; sister Brenda Fox; and Cousin Margaret Colvert.
She is survived by her niece Joey (Mark) Calfas, great niece; Shelby (Zac Clark) Calfas; great nephew Jamie (Kelsi) Calfas; great-great niece Marli Calfas; and great-great nephew Barrett Calfas.
