Barbara S. Bennett, a resident of Loveland, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026. She was born in Tooele, Utah, on January 1, 1929 to Hilda M. Nelson and Thayer Saylor.
Barbara began her life in Tooele and later moved to Washington, D.C., and then Kansas while pursuing her education. Her adventurous spirit took her to many places throughout her life, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Tucson, Arizona, before she ultimately made her home in Centennial Colorado from 1977 to 2020. She then moved to Greeley for a few years and then settled on Loveland to be closer to family.
Barbara married Gary L. Bennett on August 7, 1961. Their life together was filled with family, friendship, travel, and many memorable adventures.
Barbara worked as a bank teller and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She cherished the friendships she made throughout her life and especially enjoyed gathering with friends for their dinner club and the ladies lunch bunch.
She had a special love for English Bulldogs and took great pride in breeding and showing them. Barbara also shared a love of travel and adventure with her husband, Gary. Together, they traveled coast to coast in their motorhome, creating treasured memories along the way. Their adventures even took them down in Copper Canyon to Mexico.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sandy Flood, Suzy Bennett, and Shawna Nelson; grandchildren, Jason Williams, Sarah Mecomber, and Mattea Ubert; and great-grandchildren, Haley Williams, Claire Williams, Olive Williams, Logan Williams, Ryder Ubert, and Parker Ubert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda M. Nelson and Thayer Saylor; her beloved husband, Gary L. Bennett; and her son, Steven.
Barbara will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her adventurous spirit, and her devotion to her faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
