Bartow Bridges Pizzo

Bartow “Bart” Bridges Pizzo, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died on August 20, 2026 at 90 years of age. She was born in New Orleans on August 6, 1936. She graduated from Newcomb College where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She worked as a social worker for Catholic Charities before marrying and raising her four children. She was a devout Catholic and a 60-year parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church. She engaged in many volunteer efforts with her church, alma mater, and her children’s schools, especially mentoring at Covenant House. Her warmth, love, compassion, and empathy connected her to many, making her a second mother and a friend to all. She was survived by her children, grandchildren, sister, and friends.
