Beatrice Catherine Diligent, affectionately known as “Bebe” to her family and closest friends, passed away at her home in Jamaica, Queens, New York, on August 19, 2026, of natural causes.
She was born in Haiti on July 3, 1945, to Meritus Diligent and Delcina Julien. Her life was marked by her dedication to education, her Catholic faith, and her family. She emigrated to the United States in the late 1960s, leaving Haiti with her husband Pierre Max Antoine, and raised three children in Queens.
Bebe was a teacher before leaving Haiti and later became a substitute teacher in New York City. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from York College, became a devoted parishioner, gifted seamstress, and talented cook.
Her life reflected resilience and determination, supporting her family’s education, faith, and Haitian roots. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
