Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8th, 2026. Her loss leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Daughter of the late Issie and Sylvia Coleman. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Leonard and Edith Coleman, and Doris Keller and the late Jerry Keller. Beatrice spent 45 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband Jon Kantor, with whom she raised four children. She was deeply loved by each of them: Stephen Kantor and his wife Katie Tuttle-Kantor; Corey Wexler and his wife Tamara Schwartz; Michael Kantor and his wife Lori Lerner; and Lindsay Kantor and her husband Devon Lowry. Beatrice was also lovingly known as “Grandma” to her grandchildren, who brought endless joy into her life: Avery, Morgan, and Drew Kantor; Jake and Sam Wexler; Cooper, Lucas, and Tanner Slutsken; and Dylan and Maya Kantor. Nothing made Beatrice happier than having all of her children and grandchildren in the same room. They were her source of comfort, and she theirs. She beamed with pride at their accomplishments and provided support through their challenges. Above all else, Beatrice was a teacher – to her children and grandchildren, and to the thousands of students who came through the doors of the United Talmud Torah and Herzliah schools. Beatrice had a strong commitment to the Jewish education system in Montreal and fundamentally shaped it into what it is today. Special thanks to the loving and supportive care team at Sunrise Senior Living in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. As well, a very special and heartfelt thanks to her personal care-giver, Sheila, who played such a pivotal role in her final months. Finally, Dr. Elie Kassouf’s compassionate, patient-focused, and humane care at the JGH was so greatly appreciated.
