Betty Fulps was born on September 5, 1939, in Pocatello, ID to Vernal and Hortense Bitton. She grew up in different small towns in Idaho. She graduated in 1957 from Pocatello, ID. She met the love of her life, Eddie Fulps, at Idaho State University in a Freshman English class. Eddie and Betty married on February 1, 1958. Shortly thereafter they started their family. Betty spent her life as a supportive wife to her husband and a dedicated mother to her 4 children. Nothing, absolutely nothing was more important to her than her family. The family lived in Pocatello, ID, El Paso, TX, Farmington, NM, Albuquerque, NM, Amarillo, TX and finally settled in Fort Worth, TX in April 1971. Eddie and Betty were enthusiastic square dancers, founding 2 different square dance clubs in Fort Worth and attending many state and national conventions annually. She spent many years in the Woman of Rotary as President. She spent many days carting her children around to sports venues making sure they were on time with clean uniforms, working concession stands and providing refreshments for all the various teams. She also loved her adoptive home of Texas and loved America deeply and made sure to have a Texas and American flag flying at her home. She was loved so much by her family and many friends, but she can now be with her husband and dance again. She can reunite with her parents and brothers and many friends who preceded her in death. Betty died peacefully at home on July 18, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernal and Hortense Bitton, her brother Gary Bitton (Irene Bitton) and her brother Bobby Bitton (Vonnie Bitton). She is survived by her son Layne Fulps, daughter Suzanne Fulps Schuster (Steve), son Jim Bill Fulps, son Patrick Fulps, six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
