Betty Jo Lane was born July 20, 1928, in Bronson, Florida to Joseph Dewey Dixon and Edythe Leona Dixon at her paternal grandparents home.

Betty graduated from Gainesville High School in June 1946. Was married to Quentin Edgar Lane, December 19, 1947, at the First Baptist Church, Gainesville, Florida. She loved being a Navy wife.

She served God and her family wherever they lived. She was a loving mother to her three sons and daughters-in-law, and loving grandmother/great-grandmother to her nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She taught Sunday School, and was a leader in mission education for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Quentin [Sept, 15 1999]; her parents, Joe and Edythe Dixon; her brother, Robert Earl Dixon; her sister Mary Elisabeth Waddle.

She leaves behind her children, Ed (Sue) Lane, Rob (Debra Little) Lane, and Alan (Catherine Allen) Lane; nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life & funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th at Olive Baptist Church -Warrington Campus – 103 West Winthrop Ave, Pensacola, Florida; visitation will be held at 11:00 am with a funeral service at 12:00 pm. A committal will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North American Mission Board or the International Mission Board through Olive Baptist Church – 1836 E Olive Rd Pensacola, Florida. 32514.
