Beverly Ann Sherwin, 85, of San Antonio TX, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026. Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania as a daughter to the late, George and Anna (Surgeon) Shaffer, Beverly graduated from the McKeesport High School and received an Associate's degree from Point Park University.
Beverly spent much of her career in education starting at Fayetteville Manlius school district and culminating as the Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools at Jamesville Dewitt Central School District where she retired in 2006.
Mrs Sherwin previously lived in Philadelphia, PA, Manlius and Cazenovia, NY and Rio Rancho, NM. Mrs. Sherwin was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Edward, her sister, Sandra Bertoty and her grandson Austin Kohanski.
She is survived by her four children, Peter (Rita) Sherwin of Midwest City, OK, Carrie Weaver of Choctaw, OK, Michael Sherwin of San Antonio, TX and Gregory (Dawn) Sherwin of Dayton, OR; one brother, George (Diane) Shaffer; eight grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
