Bill Lee White, age 79, of Kansas City, Missouri died September 24, 2026. Born in Emporia, Kansas on August 24, 1947 to Iolene and Bill Olsen. Bill spent his youth in the Gridley, Kansas community. He loved sports playing basketball and football in high school. Following graduation he moved to Kansas City and attended Draughon’s College of Commerce. His B and V career spanned 40 plus years beginning in the Drafting Department and ending in management. Bill met his wife of 58 years, Janice, in Kansas City, and they were united in marriage on October 26, 1968, in Gridley, Kansas. He was a devoted father to two children, Angela White of Raytown, Missouri, and Brian White of Kansas City, Missouri. He took great pride in being a parent, especially in supporting them in their activities. This part of his life’s journey took him from Indian Princesses, Camp Fire Girls, Job’s Daughters, Baton parades and pageants, to coaching baseball and basketball for both. His passion for fishing never waned from childhood and he loved sharing that with many different fishing buddies over the years. The light of his life, his grandson Macen, took center stage as Bill enjoyed watching his sports and other activities in recent years. Bill is survived by his wife, Janice, daughter Angela, son Brian, and Grandson Macen, three sisters, two brothers, and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by parents Iolene and Roy White and Bill Olsen and two brothers.
