What can we say about Bob Tiller?

Bob Tiller was a man after God’s own heart. He strived to be more like him each day. He was never a man of many words, but when he spoke there was Godly wisdom in them. His words carried the power of the Holy Spirit, because that is who lived in him. He was humble, simple, introverted, loving, caring and a kind man with the gentlest of hearts. He was a man of integrity, whose character was never questioned. He was God’s chosen and it showed everyday in his actions and words. He wanted everyone to know Jesus, even those reading this now. For years he made children wooden puzzles with his own hands because he wanted little children to know Jesus loved them by name.

Dad was born in Littlefield Texas and grew up in Chester, Illinois to parents Benjamin and Lydia Tiller and was the 8th of 10 children. Then at 17, Bob came to Barksdale Air Force Base and never left the area again. Dad proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 37 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant for the 917th. Dad was a flight engineer on Old Shakey, the C 124 Globemaster. He has the distinction of taking the last C 124 to the bone yard. He served in the 3rd Strategic Support Squadron, also known as the Triple S and then transferred over to the Air Force Reserves. He was loved by all he worked with and served with during those many years. Not to mention how much he loved them. He loved this country and was a true patriot in every way.

After God, dad loved his family. He cherished us and showed us every day how he loved us all. But let me tell you this, his true love was his wife- a true Proverbs 31 lady. Best part, she loved him with her whole heart and took amazing care of him these past almost 4 years since his stroke. He would tell her daily how he loved her, how he appreciated all she did and she was beautiful to him. The vows of sickness and health meant something to them. May 25, 2026 they would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary. Elizabeth “Zibby” Tiller will live on cherishing those years with him.

He adored his children and their families. He was the best dad and grandfather- the best Christian example of a Godly dad. Always there to pray over us and for us, encourage, hug, gently guide and had to be our biggest cheerleader. We never had to question if we were loved by him, HE SHOWED IT. His words of love and his actions always were the same. He never said he loved us without showing he loved us. We cherish the memories and gladly accept living the legacy that he left for us to live. We have incredible shoes to follow in and remembering all he taught us. But the one thing we accept is the challenge to live for Jesus and show others the way to Him as dad would expect.

He is survived by his adoring, dedicated wife Elizabeth “Zibby” Tiller, his daughter Vicki and her husband Greg, his daughter Jayne Ann, his adopted son Ronald Enyeart, who he loved as his own. His last sibling Joni Davis and her family along with many nieces and nephews. Also his best friend, Harold Smith, whose family for many years were like brothers to him. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brooke and her family, Ashley and her family, Clay and his family and Trey Boyette. Also survived by adopted grandson Tevis Washington.

Please read the Roman Road to salvation in memory of dad. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mission Point Baptist Church, 740 Linwood Avenue, Stonewall, Louisiana 71047; Westwood Baptist Church, 13907 Johns Gin Road, Keithville, Louisiana 71047; or directly to TroxCare, in care of founder Dr. Sean Troxclair, 1817 East 70th Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71105. Dr. Troxclair dedicates his life through integrative medicine to caring for critically ill patients, and donations to TroxCare will be used to provide medical supplies for the clinic. Our family deeply appreciates Dr. Troxclair for giving us added years with Dad.
