It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Branko Krivokuca on September 26, 2026, in Hamilton, Ontario.
Born on February 10, 1946, in Utinja Vrelo, Croatia, Branko lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, wisdom, and devotion to his family and community. At just 23 years old, Branko became a doctor in former Yugoslavia. He was deeply respected within his community, not only for his knowledge as a physician, but for the compassion with which he treated those who came to him for help. Day or night, Branko made himself available to anyone in need of medical attention, always wearing his heart on his sleeve for those in his care.
Branko was a simple and humble man at heart. Quiet and wise, yet warm and funny, he could have a conversation with anyone. He was generous with his time and always had thoughtful advice to share. Above all else, Branko loved his family. He was a devoted husband to Gordana and a kind and patient father to Jovanka and Mira. He took tremendous pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow and in celebrating their lives and accomplishments.
To his grandchildren, he was their beloved deda. Mia, Ana, Nina, Marko, and Maja will forever cherish the stories he told, the lessons he taught, and the laughter they shared. They will especially treasure the poems he wrote for them and the many memories they created together. Branko was rarely without a book in his hand. He loved to read and write, and when he wasn't reading, he could often be found watching sports, especially tennis and soccer. He also enjoyed life's simple pleasures and good conversation with family and friends.
Branko will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Gordana; his children, Jovanka (Rade) and Mirjana; his grandchildren, Mia, Ana, Nina, Marko, and Maja; his sibling Petar/Đuro (Milica); and his extended family, friends, former patients, and all those whose lives he touched. Branko leaves behind a remarkable legacy of compassion, wisdom, and love. He spent his life caring for others as a doctor, a husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, and a friend. His stories will continue to be told, his lessons carried forward, and his words remembered by the family he loved so dearly.
Visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel (322 Fennell Ave E, Hamilton, ON L9A 1T2) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Prayers to be said at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 153 Nash Road South, Hamilton, Ontario (153 Nash Rd S, Hamilton, ON L8K 4J9), at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
