Carl Richard Strobel, age 87, of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on July 2, 2026. He was born July 14, 1938, in Gettysburg, Ohio to Louis and Izora Strobel. Carl was an active Darke County citizen for his entire life. He grew up in Gettysburg and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1956. During his high school years, he played baseball, basketball and ran track. He attended Ohio State University for two years after high school. He then returned to Darke County to marry Betty Beisner on November 25, 1960. He is survived by his four children, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several relatives. Carl was well known for starting and operating Carl R. Strobel Construction for over 50 years, and he was actively involved in his church, community, and hobbies such as bowling, dancing, and exhibits. A service will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, Greenville.
