Catherine Rose Fraser

We are saddened to announce that our mother, Catherine Rose Fraser, passed away at Abbotsford Hospital on Friday, September 25th at the age of 99. She had a wonderful long life and almost made it to her goal of 100.

Cathy was born in Grosswerder, Saskatchewan on January 20th, 1927. She grew up in the Macklin and Provost areas then went to Langenburg in 1946. She left for Abbotsford in 1947, found work and met James (Jim) Fraser. They were married in 1949.

Cathy was a devout Catholic. In 1957 she joined the Catholic Women’s League where she grew her spiritual life and volunteered for countless activities such as catering, bazaars, turkey dinners, visiting the sick…

Cathy was a great homemaker, driver of kids and friends and would help out anyone. She liked to garden and go for walks. She also enjoyed watching sports and the news and loved getting visitors.

Cathy was always there for her family, a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband Jim and her firstborn son, Blair. She has left behind her adoring family, Gayle (Greg)- Tyler (Michelle) Seven and Emmett, Levi (Kristy) Elijah and Austin, Micah, Jessi (Morgan) Dakota, Brooke and Wylie, Barbara (Russ)- Amy, Noah and Sloane, Jared (Meagan) Owen, Anderson and Ellie, Rod (Maria)- Matthew (Alycia) Mason, William and Emilia, Kristopher (Sammie) Mackenzie and Wilder, Paulina (Steve) Cheryl- Dan

We have lost an amazing person and heaven has gained an angel.

The funeral will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church 33333 Mayfair Ave., Abbotsford, B.C. on Thursday, October 8th at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow in the hall.
