Charles "Charlie" Daniel Woodard

Charles Daniel "Charlie" Woodard, 38, of Mabank, Texas, passed away in the line of duty on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was the husband of Amanda Lynn Perkins Woodard. Born on February 12, 1988, in Duncanville, Texas, to Ronnie Lynn Woodard and Robin Rachelle Golden Woodard.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, friend, and public servant whose life was defined by service, compassion, and an unwavering love for his family and community.

A proud graduate of Mabank High School's Class of 2006, Charlie was a standout varsity baseball player who displayed the determination, leadership, and teamwork that would become hallmarks of his life. Those who knew him then knew he had a servant's heart and a passion for helping others.

After graduation, he answered the call to serve his community by becoming a volunteer firefighter. Through years of hard work, dedication, and selfless commitment, he rose through the ranks to become Fire Marshal and ultimately Fire Chief. Protecting others was never just a career—it was his calling. He was passionate about fire prevention and took pride in educating families and helping keep his community safe.

His love for serving extended well beyond the fire department. He devoted countless hours to coaching Little League basketball and softball, as well as high school fall baseball. Whether on the field, on the court, or in the firehouse, he believed in leading by example and inspiring others to be their very best.

While he gave so much to his community, nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family. They were the center of his world, and every moment shared with them was one he cherished. His love was constant, his support unwavering, and his presence a source of strength and comfort.

He will always be remembered for his contagious smile, unforgettable laughter, and ability to brighten every room he entered. He had a way of making everyone feel like family and left a lasting impression on every life he touched.

Though his time with us was far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is immeasurable. His courage, kindness, generosity, and dedication to serving others will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
