Obituary

Charles Jacobs

October 17, 2026 Montréal, Quebec Paperman & Fils

Peacefully, in Toronto, on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Kind and devoted father and father-in-law of Alyssa Jacobs and Carlo Scappaticci. Proud Zeezee of Avery. Generous and loving brother and brother-in-law of Marilyn Jakubowski and Paul Goldfarb. Incredible Unckie of Hayley, and Dayna. Son of the late Morris and the late Dora Jakubowski. Special thanks to Ana for decades of dedication and devotion to the whole family.

Charles was, as so many described him, a true mensch —a kind, well-liked man about whom no one had a bad word to say. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a direct, no-nonsense manner. A respected accountant, he took great pride in the relationships he built with his clients over the years. Receiving a plaque recognizing fifty years in the profession was a particular highlight—especially, he joked, because it came with no more dues to pay. Charles seemed to know everyone and enjoyed life’s pleasures: a round of golf, a day on the slopes, a good walk, and a vacation. He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and all those who knew him.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, October 20 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Beth Tikvah Congregation section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva in Montreal at Ruby Foos Tuesday following burial until 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Shiva continues in Toronto at 68 Yorkville Ave. Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Charles’ memory may be made to the Baycrest Foundation ℅ The Freeman Family Day Centre: 416-785-2875 or click here .
