Cheryl Deschner (née Monk)

March 7, 2026 Paperman & Fils

It is with great sadness that I, Wayne Deschner, announce the passing of my best friend, wife and loving partner for 35 years. Cheryl is survived by her sisters Patricia Gunn and Colleen Monk. Her niece Joanne Miller and nephew Mark Christie. She is predeceased by her parents Lorraine and William Monk as well as her older sister Barbara Monk.

I wish to thank Dr. D. Ricella, Dr. S. Gold, Dr. Xia, Dr. C. Roncero, Dr. H. Chertkow and Alice Zhang for all of their care and guidance trying to get ahead of the disease. A special thank you to Howard Kobernick for his help in getting us some of the greatest help for Cheryl.

Cheryl battled for 3 years in the only way she knew, with dignity. A heart wrenching disease Frontal Temporal Lobar Degeneration (FTLD), which causes Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA)

Cheryl had a heart so huge, everyone else always came first. She volunteered with pride in the kitchen for many years at The Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence.

In lieu of gifts, donations to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care residence at click here.
