It is with profound sadness, but also with great peace, that we announce the passing of Madame Claire Huneault Peterson, who peacefully departed in her sleep on July 9, 2026, at the age of 83.

She was the daughter of the late Xavier Huneault and Eva Gleason; beloved wife of Monsieur Guy Peterson, with whom she shared nearly 65 years of marriage.

Claire leaves behind her husband, her son Luc (Isabelle), and her son Éric (Julie). She has joined her son Michel (Lucie), whom she always carried in her heart. She also leaves her grandchildren, Anick (Jean-Mathieu), Fanie (Steven), Kim (Jean-Sébastien), Léa, and Tommy, along with several great-grandchildren, who will remember her as a deeply loving and caring grandma.

She also leaves her brothers Bernard Huneault (the late Denise Deneault) and André Huneault (Marie Thérien). She has joined her brothers and sisters Rejean (Janine Poirier), Thérèse (the late Roland Cyr), Maurice (Gisèle Philion), Jacques (Hélène Rollin), Guy, and Claudette.

Claire will be remembered by many nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends who were privileged to cross her path.

The family sincerely thanks the palliative care team at home for their presence, kindness, and dignified care that allowed her to end her life peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Special thanks to Annie, her home nurse, for her kindness, goodness, and caring nature.

A ceremony will be held privately by the family.

Expressions of sympathy can be made through a donation to La maison Mathieu Froment-Savoie.

Her love, sweetness, and calm strength will continue to live in the hearts of those she loved.
