September 13, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Cynthia Jeanette Kellermann, age 56, of El Paso, Texas, passed away on September 13, 2026.

She was born on April 30, 1970 to Allan and Rosa Smilowitz in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School, attended EPCC, trained in several vocational programs and is a veteran of the US ARMY. She went on to work for DHS CBP taking care of new and current canine students at the local CBP canine academy on Fort Bliss where she was known for her love and care of all canine students good, bad, passing, failing, and those waiting for their next mission.

Cyn as we called her lived a life dedicated to her family. She loved reading her bible, scriptures, reading novels and listening to music. More than anything, she cherished her role as a sister (in law), daughter, auntie, friend and dog mom. Her generous heart, protective (daughter, sister, auntie) and fun personality will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, Allan and Rosa, Sister Erica Sweeney, Brother-in-law Dan Sweeney, Niece Roza Smilowitz, Niece & Nephew Daniel and Philippa. Also her Husky Snowy and sheep dog Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Les & Josephine Foster, Eliza and Manuel Chavez, and brother Scott Smilowitz. Also her Husky Tickles, old English sheep dogs Simba, Alfie, Pressly, Toby, and BeeBee. And her foster working dog Led.

Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held on September 28, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the Rosary at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Scripture service at 12:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St. El Paso, Texas 79904.

She will then be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you check to make sure your pets have current vaccinations, up to date medications, treats and extra love as their beloved family member would have it no other way.
