Dana Lynn Heffez (née Berman)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dana Lynn Berman Lightstone Heffez. Beloved wife of Dan Salomon. Devoted mother of Arielle Rachel, Elyce Andrée (Sam Perlen), and Andrea Berman. Daughter of the late Norman Berman, the late Claire Berman Lightstone Friedes, and the late Jack Lightstone who raised her as his own. Loving sister of Allison Joy Lightstone, the late Jonathan David Berman, and the late Elyce Joy Berman. Adored niece of Pearl and the late Saul Lighter, and the late Ruth and the late Howard Pelzner. Much loved daughter-in-law of Dolly and the late André Heffez, and sister-in-law to Leslie and Stacy Heffez. Aunt of Adam Heffez, Erin Heffez (Scott Frankel), Ashley Gold, and Lucas Gold. Cherished cousin of Danny Lighter, Judy and Laurence Glickman, the late Barbra Lighter, Jeff and Libby Wellerstein, the late Rian Wellerstein Smith and the late Bruce Smith. Treasured by many more family and friends.

Dana's creativity, generosity, and love for her family touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born and raised in Montreal, Dana had a lifelong passion for art, history, travel, and culture. After receiving her B.A. in Economics from McGill University, she spent several months studying in Lausanne, Switzerland, and traveling throughout Europe and Israel. She then spent a year studying at the prestigious Sotheby's Auction House in London.

Upon returning from London, Dana relocated to Washington, D.C., where she became the Assistant Curator of the B'nai B'rith Klutznick Museum, gaining experience with its renowned private Judaica collection and helping to mount celebrated exhibitions, including The Yiddish Theatre in America. While living in Washington, Dana met Dan and they fell in love. After they married, they made their home in Baltimore, and then later in Chicago where they raised their three beloved daughters. Dana and her family later moved to Milwaukee, where they became part of the local Jewish community.

Dana greatly enjoyed being by the water, visiting art galleries and museums, creating mosaic artwork, and skiing with her family. She loved hosting the Jewish holidays in her home, with Passover being her favourite. She treasured every opportunity to spend time laughing and making memories with her family.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, August 4 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at the Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery, 1250 chemin de la Forêt, Outremont.
