Daniel Trudel

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Daniel Trudel, who passed away in Ottawa, Ontario, on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the age of 40.

Born on June 19, 1986, Daniel was the beloved son of France Parenteau and the late Robert Ammison. He was a cherished brother to Joanne Trudel, Sonja Ammison, Melanie Parenteau, Marc Parenteau, and Teresa Ammison, as well as a much-loved uncle, cousin, nephew, and dear friend to many.

Daniel shared an especially close bond with his nephews, Owen and Liam Trudel, with whom he lived and shared an important part of his life. He loved them deeply, and the closeness they shared will always remain a meaningful part of his memory.

Daniel had many aunts, uncles, and cousins—too many to mention, I’m afraid—but each played a critical role in loving him dearly. He was loved by so many people. Among those closest to him were his best friends, Grady and Tiffany, whose friendship meant a great deal to him. He had many other friendships throughout his life on earth, too many to mention. You all know who you are.

Daniel had a wonderfully goofy personality and loved to laugh, but he loved making other people laugh even more. He was kind-hearted, loyal, generous, and thoughtful, with a gentle spirit and a genuine concern for others. He was adventurous, easygoing, and always ready to lend a helping hand. He had a special way of making friends wherever he went, and his warmth, humour, and unforgettable spirit touched the lives of so many. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his absence will be felt more than words can express.

Those who knew Daniel will remember his sense of humour, his ability to bring laughter into a room, and the friendships he formed throughout his life. We invite everyone who knew and loved him to share their photographs, stories, and favourite memories of Daniel so that, together, we can honour his life and remember the happiness he brought to those around him.

Although Daniel left us far too soon, the laughter he created, the friendships he made, and the love he shared will remain with us forever.
