Dickie Irene Erwin

April 24, 2026 Dignity Memorial

Dickie Irene Gross Erwin was born on September 20, 1953 in Urania, LA to Edward and Dorothy Gross and passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 in Shreveport, LA.

Survivors are her loving daughter, Katie MacMurray “Her Heart”. Her Husband, Larry G. Erwin. Sister Dona Festervan and nieces Teresa Festervan and Tammy Meshell along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Edward D. Gross, her mother Dorothy J. Gross, dear brother-in-law, Tommy Festervan and sister, Diane Elliott.

She graduated as part of the first class of Trinity Heights. She worked at AT&T followed by the gaming industry for more than 20 years.

The sweetness of her soul could be seen by everyone. She enjoyed making lots of memories while traveling but her “happy place” was always found at the beach. She had an undeniable love for her daily walks, turkey burgers and a striped shirt.

She walked faithfully with God and savored her worship time at First Methodist Church soaking up the beautiful music of the choir.

She wanted to express that none of this would have been possible without the love and support of all of her dear friends and family—especially her daughter, whom she loved more than life itself, her loving niece, Teresa, and Randy. To her lifelong friends Charlotte Uli and Marilyn Beach whom she cherished and loved dearly. She will never forget their kindness and friendship.

Pallbearers will be Jared Douglas, Herb Murphy, Robert Taggart, Randy Paine, Mike Uli and Randy MacMurray. Honorary Pallbearer: “Little Lincoln”.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CHRISTUS Foundation Shreveport-Bossier, 1400 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana 71105, or online at https://christusfoundationshreveportbossier.org/give/donate/.
