Dominic J Grassi

Reverend Dominic J. Grassi, age 79, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Father Grassi was a devoted priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, ordained in 1973, and spent more than five decades faithfully serving the Church. He was a faculty member at Quigley Seminary, was named Pastor of St. Josaphat Parish, and subsequently Pastor of St. Gertrude Parish. Upon retirement, he served as Pastor Emeritus of St. Josaphat Parish. Beyond his priestly ministry, Father Grassi was an author, lecturer, gifted chef, storyteller, and a friend of labor. His warmth, wit, wisdom, and ability to connect with people touched many lives. He lived a life rooted in faith, service, family, friendship, and community. His legacy will continue in the parishes, families, and friends he influenced.
