It is with great sadness that we share that after a fight with cancer, Donna Maria Penner, passed away on September 5, 2026 at the age of 83 years old.
Donna lived a life centered around her family, particularly her daughter Christine. She was a fiercely supportive mother, championing Christine’s passion for horses, ensuring Christine always had the best horses to ride and compete with. Donna was a constant presence at the barn, never missed a horse show, standing by as Christine’s biggest supporter through every competition. She was known by many as the ultimate horse show Mom.
In her later years Donna enjoyed travel with cherished trips to Alaska, Mexico, Cuba, and Jamaica with her daughter and close friends. She enjoyed attending the day club at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital and made many friends.
In addition to Christine (Brian Ilnicki), Donna is survived by her step-granddaughter Kennedy (Danny Ringuette). She was predeceased by her husband Victor in 1970 and step-granddaughter Jordan in 2018.
A service will be held at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810 34th Ave, Edmonton, AB, T6E6L1, CA, on September 18, 2026 at 10:30am
