It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Magdy Wassef at the wonderful age of 90 years old. He was a loving and passionate man who lived to care for others, most of all, for his family and his friends. He is survived by his beautiful wife France, and his children Anny (Taylor Hamilton), Hanny (Justine Timbro), Nancy (Vinay Mandy) and Mary, and his granddaughters Mélany and Stéphany Hamilton, and Gabrielle and Claire Mandy. He also leaves behind his cherished brothers Momtaz (Nabila), Mokhtar (Hoda), and the late Mamdouh (Sonia), brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nephews and nieces.
We wish to give a heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, nurses’ aids, orderlies, and all the staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital where he spent the last few weeks of his life, and at the Lakeshore Hospital where he worked as a dedicated doctor for nearly 40 years.
The family will receive condolences Sunday, September 13 from 2-5 pm at Voluntas, 4695 boul. St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec, H9H 2A7.
The church service will be Monday, September 14 at 11am at St. Peter and St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church, 1 Avenue De l’Eglise, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 5J1.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Lakeshore Hospital Foundation, the MUHC Foundation, or St. Peter and St. Paul Coptic Orthodox Church.
