It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Edward Condo, who passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m. at Maria Hospital, at the age of 90.Edward is now reunited with the love of his life, Jeaninne L Condo, his devoted wife of more than 60 years, whose love, faith, and unwavering partnership were the foundation of their family. Together, they built a life rooted in love, strength, respect, and Mi'kmaw traditions, creating a legacy that will continue for generations.
Edward leaves behind his loving brothers, Harry Condo, Morris Condo, and Daniel Condo, and his beloved sister, Irene Condo.He was predeceased by his cherished siblings, Bernice Condo, John Henry Paul, better known as "Jacky," Guy Condo, and Mary Condo, whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
He will be forever cherished by his children, Michael Condo, Mary Jane Condo, and Claude Condo; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Condo, Jason Condo, Ashley Condo, Kimberly Condo, Tracy Condo, Cindy Condo, and Trevor Condo, Eddie Condo; and his great-grandchildren, Jonathan Condo, Eddie Condo, Marcus Condo, Cheyenne Condo, Levi Condo, Amber Condo, Abby Condo, Morgan Condo, Mandy Condo, Cassidy Condo, Seth Condo, Jonas Condo and little Mary Jannine Condo.
He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and remarkable life.
Edward was a proud Mi'kmaw man whose life was defined by strength, resilience, kindness, humility, and an unwavering love for his family. He was a teacher, mentor, role model, and a guiding presence to all who knew him. Through his deep appreciation for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and traditional living, he shared not only practical skills but also the values of respect, humility, generosity, perseverance, and compassion.
Edward carried the teachings, values, and traditions of his people with great pride and dignity. He was regarded by his family as a respected Elder—a keeper of stories, knowledge, and lived experience whose wisdom bridged generations. His legacy will forever guide his children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the countless memories he leaves behind and in the values he instilled in each of us. His legacy of love, wisdom, faith, family, and respect for the land will continue to live on for generations to come. Edward was surrounded by the love of his children, grandson, siblings, nieces, and family as he peacefully began his journey to the Spirit World.
