Edwin Ralph Cowley

August 11, 2026 Bryson, Quebec Dignity Memorial

Edwin “Bubba” Ralph Cowley, 82, of Highlands, Texas, passed away, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Baytown, Texas, on August 22, 1943, to the late Leonard and Margaret Cowley. He proudly graduated from Robert E. Lee, in Baytown, class of 1961. In 1996, Bubba met the love of his life, a young woman by the name of Nancy Fortenberry. In 2002, she became his wife, and they spent the next 23 years building a beautiful life together. Bubba made his career with Harris County Flood Control, retiring in 1995. Bubba pursued many interests, some of which included his love for fishing and kayaking. He could often be found out on the water in his spare time with a pole in his hand. When he wasn’t at one of his favorite fishing holes, he was out mowing the yard. Bubba found pleasure in the simple things in life like sitting out on the porch watching the birds or watching his favorite football team, the Pittsburg Steelers. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents; his son Josh Vaught; his sister Kathleen Killen; and his brother Kenneth Cowley. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Nancy; his daughter Ashley Easterly and husband Josh; his grandchildren Noah Householder, Damon Vaught, and Cameron Whitaker; his nephew Timmy Luedicke and wife Debra; his numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; his many cousins; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Heart To Heart Hospice and its wonderful staff for the love and compassion shown to him.
