Elaine G. Holmes, born on February 21, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 7, 2026. She was a dedicated member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church since 1968, a graduate of Ohio University and the University of South Carolina with a master's degree in social work. Elaine was a supporter of the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and loved the Gamecocks. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, predeceased by her husband Dr. George R. Holmes.
She is survived by her son, Mark T. Holmes, her daughter Georgia Lynne Holmes Doran, and her grandson James Richard Doran IV. The family appreciates the support from The Palmettos of Parklane and Caris Hospice.
