Elaine Gibson

Elaine Gibson, age 89, passed away on June 23, 2026 in Rowlett, Texas. She was born on April 24, 1937 in Farmersville, Texas to A.C. and Agnes Boykin. Elaine Gibson was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from St. Edward’s Catholic School. She married Lonnie W. Robbins in 1955 and the couple had 3 children.

She was an executive assistant for the U.S. Government. Elaine began her employment at 20th Century Fox, then moved to the City of Dallas Tax Department and City of Dallas Water Department. Elaine later retired from the U.S. Defense Department.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, needle point, gardening, and making candy—specifically making pralines for her father. She made embroidered Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her family and friends will always remember her as a person who relished in her family. She will be remembered for her stories and her beautiful smile. Elaine was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Denison, Texas until her move back to Dallas.

She is preceded in death by her spouse, Joe Gibson; her parents, A.C. and Agnes Boykin; siblings, John Boykin, Rita Hutchison; and her infant daughter.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti (spouse Ronnie Woolever) and Pam (spouse Mark Almon Sr.), grandchildren, Priscilla Mayfield (spouse Chris), Mark Almon Jr. (spouse Crista), Michael Almon (spouse Jennifer) Jason Schmitz (spouse Jennifer), Justin Schmitz (spouse Monica); and great-grandchildren, Samantha DiChristoper (spouse Ryan), Mark Almon III “Trey”, Alyssa Almon, Lane Almon, Wyatt Almon, Brent Lough, Cody Schmitz, Colton Schmitz, Macy Schmitz, Tyler Schmitz, (spouse Amanda), Kaylee Schmitz, and Memphis Schmitz.

Services will be held at Calvary Hill Funeral, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00pm. Liturgy of the Word will be held in the same chapel on Thursday, July 2 at 9:00am, with the burial at 10:00am, at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
