Emil Whitcomb lived a life marked by dedication, service, and commitment to his country, his community, and his family.Emil proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, including his service during the Vietnam War, where he attained the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. His years in the Marine Corps reflected his strength, discipline, courage, and unwavering commitment to serving his country.Following his retirement from the military, Emil continued his career of service to others. In 1976, he began working for the Health Department, where he dedicated 27 years of his life to serving his community. He remained there until his retirement in 2003.Throughout his life, Emil demonstrated a deep sense of duty and perseverance. His years of military and public service left a lasting impact on those around him, and he will be remembered for the dedication he showed to his country, his community, and those he loved.Emil was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Pearl Joyce Whitcomb; his sister, Leona Lieurance (Frank); and his beloved son, Lawrence Whitcomb (Katrina).He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Whitcomb; his two granddaughters, Lauren Gomes (Mario), and Crystal Baker; five great-grandchildren; his nieces, Frankie Lieurance of California and Melodie Rumore Gage; and his nephew, Howard Rumore (Paula).Emil Whitcomb's legacy of service, strength, and devotion to his family and community will continue to be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved him.
