Evelyn Sperling

Evelyn Sperling passed away on July 16, 2026, at age 100. She leaves a loving, devoted family and many loving and devoted friends and caretakers. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Regina/Rose Sperling, sister Freda York, brother Sanford Sperling, and niece Lisa Lansing. She is survived by her niece Regina Lansing Ruben (Jeff), great nephew Adam Ruben (Marina), great niece Rachel Ruben Taschenberger (Peter), and five great great niece and nephews. She was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Portland, OR, Irvington, NJ, and West Orange, NJ. Evelyn graduated from Weequahic High School. She worked at Newark Beth Israel Hospital, volunteered at the Home for the Chronic Sick, and worked in the Office of Defense Transportation during WWII, later working in real estate, travel, and at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, NJ. She loved classical music, nature, books, art, and cherished her family and friends.
