On May 26, 2026, Fernand Guillemette, aged 86, passed away at CHUS Hôtel-Dieu. He was the beloved husband of Marielle Breton and the son of the late Alice Nadeau and Pierre Guillemette. Fernand lived in Bromptonville.
He is survived by his children Michel (Isabelle) and Nathalie (Claude); grandchildren Maxim (Sophie), Frédérick, Hugo (Sonia), and Stéphanie (Jean-François); as well as eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Thérèse and Jeanne D'Arc, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Breton family, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family expresses gratitude to Dr. Claude Hémond, Dr. Julie Blanchard, and the palliative care staff. Thanks also to the ladies Suzie, Sonia, and Émilie from CLSC for their support.
The funeral service will be held at the Coopérative funéraire de l’Estrie, Bromptonville, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Fernand's ashes will be placed in the family plot in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the Fondation du CHUS, soins palliatifs.
