Fernando Castaneda age 79, pass away on Friday August 28, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas.
Fernando passed away peacefully at 7:04 pm, looking out the window and seeing the sunset with angel's images in the clouds.
Fernando graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1969, attended St. Mary's University graduated in 1975, with a BA in Secondary Education in major English.
He worked at Edgewood ISD, Brentwood Middle School from 1975 to 1976, English teacher at Memorial High School from 1981 to 2005. He was a perfect role model and an inspiration to his siblings, and to his students.
He was preceded in death by his mother Maria Zamudio; his sister Juanita Zamudio; his brother Jose Castaneda; and his niece Nicole E. Zamudio.
Fernando is survived by his two brothers. Robert (Bob) Hernandez, George Zamudio and his wife Andrea; his niece Georgette E. Michalenko, her husband Neil and their children, Alyssa and Nico, also his niece Ariel-Jade E. Zamudio and her children, Ayden, Josiah and Melody.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday September 10, 2026. At Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio Texas, 78212 with an evening service to follow at 8pm.
