Frances Lorraine Horne

Frances Lorraine Horne, 85, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home in Cary on August 29, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1941, in Clayton, North Carolina, to Hayes and Mildred Sasser.

Frances and Ralph L. Horne, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1966, made their home in Cary, North Carolina, with their three daughters. After Ralph's passing, Frances and the girls moved to Raleigh. They enjoyed frequent trips to Atlantic Beach and the North Carolina mountains. Frances was an avid bowler who treasured her bowling community and gladly shared her knowledge with anyone eager to learn.

Frances was a talented baker and seamstress. She made wedding cakes and cakes for all occasions, and she made her famous "Nana Cookies" for the holidays. She generously shared her sewing skills by creating prom and wedding dresses for young adults in the community.

Frances worked as a beautician on Kildaire Farm Road alongside Ruth Pierce and Pat Mclamb before opening her own shop named "Four Seasons". Later in life, she worked as a customer service representative for a large commercial store chain. Frances was kind and caring, and she found joy in helping others.

Her positive spirit and love of life will be missed by family and friends.

Frances is survived by her three daughters: Cindy King (Geoff Weldon), Melody Hendricks (Clint Reid), and Annette Chinigo (Todd); three grandchildren: Justin Hendricks (Molly), Destiny Jernigan (Adam), and Alex Chinigo; and two great-grandchildren: Declan Hendricks and Skylin Jernigan.
