Freddie Jo Green Rickerson

Freddie Jo Green Rickerson, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026. Born in Tampa, Florida on October 18, 1939, Freddie was the beloved daughter of James and Genevieve Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, William "Bill" and James "Jim," her devoted husband, Gerald "Rick” and her step son James "Andy".

Freddie's life was a testament to kindness, laughter, and unwavering compassion. She graduated from Hillsborough High School and pursued her passion for caring for others by attending Gordon Keller College of Nursing. Throughout her career as a nurse, Freddie was a beacon of hope, providing laughter and compassionate care to countless patients. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her genuine warmth and infectious smile, which made her a friend to all who crossed her path.

Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life, as she was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Her son, Glenn "Greg," and granddaughters, Skylar and Saige, were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She enjoyed being surrounded by those she adored and her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the company of close friends and family. A devoted member of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, Freddie found joy in her faith and community.

As we celebrate the life of Freddie Jo Green Rickerson, we remember a woman whose smile could light up a room and whose laugh was a source of joy to all. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610, US, on October 8, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610, US, on October 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
