Gary Jones

Gary Lee Jones 77 of Franklin passed away September 17, 2026 at home with his family at his side. Gary was born August 14, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Perry and Fairy Mae (Stapleton) Jones, also preceding him in death are his brother-in-law William Roof.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Marcia (Williams) Jones, special friends Lester, Christina, Cheyenne, Tanner Brown and Riley Cole. Also surviving are his sister Lois Roof, niece Kathy (Dave) Philpot, nephew Billy Roof.

Gary was a graduate of Seven Mile High School class of 1967. He retired from Armco AK Steel in 1997 after 30 years of dedicated service.

Gary and Marcia rescued dogs, then trained them to be therapy dogs. They visited special places especially Mary Haven. He was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Springboro. He was also a member of the AACA, where he enjoyed driving his pride and joy 1967 GTO.

There will be a visitation at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9579 Yankee Road, Springboro, Thursday, September 24 starting at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Following Mass, Gary will be interred in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
