It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our father, Gaston Méthot, who passed away on a sunny morning of August 21, 2026, in Montreal, at the venerable age of 92.
He was the son of the late Hilaire Méthot and the late Victoria Guindon, as well as the tender and proud husband of the late Micheline Hamel for over 48 years.
He leaves behind: his children: Johanne, François (Lélia), Daniel (Viviane); his grandchildren: Kim (Nicholas), Karl (Janie), Frédérick, Jonathan (Camille), Audrey (Billy), Evelyne, Zachary, Nellie (Félix); his great-grandchildren: Charlie, Aryelle, Automne, Laurier; his sister: Estelle; his sister-in-laws from the Méthot side: Joanne (Jacques), Francine, Monique, Anna, Kay; his brothers-in-laws from the Hamel side: Pierre (Christiane) and Jacques (Sylvie); as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends and loved ones.
The family will receive condolences at the Cooperative funéraire du Grand Montréal, located at 2000, rue Cunard, Laval (Quebec) H7S 2C9, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A memorial service for this man of heart will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the chapel of the Cooperative.
