George Ramos

George Ramos of Congers, NY, 76 years old, passed away peacefully August 01, 2026.He is survived by his wife(Soledad Nieves), Son (George Anthony) and four daughters (Melanie, Nicole, Natalie and Celena). He is also survived by nine grandchildren (Gabriel, Bella, Daniella, Lucas, Russell, Mason, Amaris, Yasmin, Nina). George was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico but was raised in NYC. He drove taxi for over 20 years and retired as a financial representative for Montefiore. He loved buying and selling antiques and visiting flea markets & garage sales. George was also passionate about the performing arts. As a percussionist (congas) he played in several bands. As an actor, he performed in several plays in the Nyack circuit and even created “The Poe Show” in order to recite and act out Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven and The Tell-Tale Heart.A memorial will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Higgins Funeral Home 321 South Main Street New City, NY. 10956.
