Gilles Simard, of Jonquière, passed away on July 24, 2026, at the age of 77 years and 11 months at the hospital in Jonquière. He was the husband of the late Lynda Girard, and son of the late Lucia Mérette and Jean-Joseph Simard. He leaves behind children Patrick (Marie-Claude Gauthier), Frédéric (Marc Villeneuve), Alexandra, Vanessa (Frank Paradis), and the late Sandra. He also is survived by grandchildren, siblings, and many relatives and friends. The funeral service was held at the St-Dominique church, followed by cremation.
