Obituary

Gitta Frazer (nee Bernstein)

October 22, 2026 Montréal, Quebec Paperman & Fils

Gita at the age 83, completed a life exceptionally well lived on October 22, 2026, passing peacefully in the warm embrace of her family.

She was the true partner and best friend of her husband, Harold. Her pride and joy were her children, Mitch (Leslie) and Melanie (Rob), her grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, Stephanie, Robert, and Samantha, and her brother, Alex (Andrea). Born in Montreal and building her life in Toronto, she filled both cities with lifelong friendships.

When faced with Parkinson's disease, Gitta responded with fierce strength and a tireless spirit. She became the inspiration behind Gitta's Race, rallying her community to raise transformative funds for North York General Hospital's Fanny Bernstein Living Well with Parkinson's Program named in honour of her beloved mother. She taught her family how to turn challenges into a legacy of purpose--a lesson that will be proudly carried on.
