Gloria Marina Alegria, 75, of Houston, Texas, entered into the presence of the Lord on July 4, 2026, surrounded by her children, family, and friends. Born on June 14, 1951, in San Miguel, El Salvador, Gloria Marina loved home and family.
In 1980, she immigrated to the US seeking a better future for her children. She built a new life, raised her children as a single mother, and instilled values of hard work and perseverance. She enjoyed decorating for Christmas, gardening, and spending time with her dogs and chickens.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them dearly, always making them feel loved. Her family includes her children Nelson Alegria, Antonia Alegria, Nora Fuentes and Jose Fuentes, grandchildren Joseph, Andrea, Edwin, Daniela, and Andrew, and great-grandchildren Mason, Clementine, Angel, and Baby Fuentes. Also survived by her companion Eustorgio Nuñes, her brothers Cesar, Rene, Fredman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is on July 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston. A funeral service is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a committal service at 11:00 a.m.
