Delbert Gordon Ragsdale, Jr. of Raeford, NC passed away at home on September 7, 2026 at the age of 82.
Gordon was born on November 26, 1943 in Asheboro, NC. He was the son of the late Delbert Gordon Ragsdale, Sr. and the late Helen Styers Ragsdale. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School and UNC-Chapel Hill, and he remained an avid Carolina fan throughout his life.
Gordon worked with Ford Motor Company in many capacities throughout his career and in 1976, he and his family moved to Raeford and he found a community he could call home for the next 50 years.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julianne Dale Ragsdale, his two daughters Elizabeth Ragsdale Braswell (Keith) and Susan Ragsdale, his grandchildren Katherine Braswell, John Randy and Shanice Randy, and his brother Philip Ragsdale (Jane) of Raeford.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liberty Hospice of Raeford or Dundarrach Community Church.
