In the afternoon of July 29, 2026, Helen Louise Elswick left this Earth and entered her heavenly home. She was surrounded by her family and her faithful dog, Little Bit.
Helen was born on December 10, 1937, to James Edmon and Elvie Elizabeth McCune. She was 88 years young. She loved people, she loved life, she loved her family, but most importantly she loved her Lord. She was a faithful prayer warrior. She was non-judgmental and loved everybody she met.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Glenn Elswick and a daughter, Glenda Ann Underwood.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Stepp and husband Mark; son-in-law, Brian K Underwood; grandchildren, Meredith Parsons, Nikki Elswick Jarrell, Anthony Underwood, Joshua Underwood, Julia Elswick; great-grandchildren, Tyler Tinsley, Isabella Jarrell, Bentley Jarrell, Harper Jarrell, Madison Underwood, Emilee Underwood, Kaiden Underwood, Emma Underwood, Sarah Underwood, Olivia Parsons, Kaitlyn Elswick, Alyssa Elswick, Grayson Elswick; great-great-grandchild, Hadley Claire McClure.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Joe Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery, Ward.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the funeral home.
