Henry James Huskisson, Jr., 54, of Standard City, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
Born December 2, 1971, in Pekin to Henry James Huskisson Sr. and Mary Faye (Sutton), he married Kathy Dawson on October 11, 2025, at Beaver Dam State Park in Carlinville. She survives.
Also surviving are three stepchildren, Anastasia Graves, Jesse Graves, and Kyle Graves; four grandchildren, Aaliyah Bennett, Leon Lyons, Jimmy Graves and Octavia Graves; sisters, Leilanie (Deana Southwood) Huskisson of Pekin and Deava (Bill) Hallam of Palmyra; one nephew, Nathanial Huskisson; two nieces, Temica Leininger and Zaylee Huskisson; one great-nephew, Anthony Jackson and two great-nieces, Zoey Cloud-Huskisson and Camille Armstrong.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
A machinist, he had just started working at United States Steel Corporation - Granite City Works two weeks before his passing. Henry was beyond excited about this job and his coworkers spoke very highly of him and his work. Prior to United Sates Steel he had worked in rock quarries, Liberty Steel and KDL Machine.
Outside of work, motorcycles and spending time with his family brought him joy. Especially with his grandkids, he could be a little ornery.
Henry’s memorial visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. The family asks those in attendance to wear Harley-Davidson or other motorcycle attire in memory of Henry’s love of riding.
