Violet Palumbo, known by her friends and family as Honey Palumbo, age 96, was a long-time resident of Flushing, NY, and previously Astoria Queens and Manhattan. She passed away peacefully in Cypress Gardens following her fall and partial hip surgery in December 2025.

Honey was born in Manhattan in 1930 and lived in West Park, Ulster County, NY during her school years. She later moved back to Manhattan, did not earn a high school diploma but received her GED later in life. She worked at the Horn and Hardart Automat and as a "Cat Lady" at Animal Haven in Flushing. She loved swimming, reading, crocheting, cooking, singing in a church choir, and writing poetry.

She was married to Salvatore Palumbo until his death in 1992. Survived by her daughter Rosemarie Bodur, her son Robert Palumbo, and her son Salvatore Palumbo. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends.
