Irma Rosario Ames, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 74.
Irma was born on December 4, 1951, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Irma was one of sixty five grandchildren. She played on the family banana and coffee plantation climbing trees and eating fruit while playing in the mud. In 1967, she moved to California, where she spent many years building a beautiful life and creating lasting friendships. She graduated from Cerritos College. Irma spent 25 years at Bank of America and ADP. Irma also maintained a real estate business for 30 years. 2002, she and her family moved to Nevada, where they lived until 2014, when they made Texas their home.
Irma was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She was a devoted Christian who found comfort, strength, and guidance in her relationship with the Lord and loved spending time reading her Bible. Her faith was an important part of who she was and was reflected in the way she loved and cared for those around her.
Irma had a magnetic personality that drew people to her. She had a special ability to make friends wherever she went, and it seemed that she never met a stranger. Her warmth, humor, kindness, and genuine love for people left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
One of Irma’s greatest joys was traveling the world with her husband, Tim. Together, they shared countless adventures and created memories that their family will cherish forever. She loved experiencing new places, meeting new people, and enjoying life alongside the man she loved.
Irma also took great pride in her home. She loved keeping her house clean and in order—so much so that she was known to make sure everything was perfectly cleaned right before the cleaning lady came. That little detail captured something special about Irma: she took pride in the things she cared about and always wanted to make sure everything was just right.
Above all, Irma loved her family. She was deeply loved by her husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, siblings, extended family, and many friends whose lives she touched throughout the years. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her, and she will be profoundly missed.
Irma is survived by her beloved husband, Tim Ames; her son, Robert Ames; daughter-in-law, Kelly Ames; her grandson, Henry Ames; her brother, Roberto Paredes; sister-in-law, Eli Paredes; her sister, Thelma Salazar; and numerous extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Irma’s faith was strong and that she is now in the presence of the Lord she loved and trusted throughout her life.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her faith, her generous spirit, her magnetic personality, her love of family and travel, and the countless lives she touched simply by being Irma.
She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will never be forgotten.
Love And Go On
You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that shell come back
or you can open your eyes and see all shes left.
Your heart can be empty because you cant see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that shes gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
or you can do what shed want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
