Jackie "Jack" Gene Dearborn

Jackie Dearborn, 81, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Jack was born in Brawley, California on February 4, 1945, to Jack and Dell Dearborn. He graduated from Calipatria High School Class in 1963. He worked in the family ranching and farming businesses there. He attended Imperial Valley College and then moved to Texas to join the family ranching business in Paris, Texas.

Jackie married Anne Fox Dearborn of Paris, Texas, in 1964, giving them 62 years of family memories. He had a 43-year law enforcement career that started with the Dallas Police Department in the patrol, accident investigation unit and in the motorcycle unit. He was with Lamar County Sheriff Department as a detention officer, and then finally retiring from Dallas County Sheriff Department as criminal court bailiff. He and Anne owned and operated two restaurants in the Wichita Falls area.

Jack was an avid horseman, enjoying especially cutting competitions and trail riding. He learned to tolerate Anne’s growing herd of quarter horses. When he asked Anne to thin the herd, she sold his horse first. Some of his favorite memories were times spent with his family boating, camping, and traveling in their RV. He was able to enjoy his annual cousin reunion this April at his home, visiting with his numerous and much beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jack was a member of the Paris Masonic Lodge.

Jack is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Dell Dearborn of Bellevue, Texas, his father and mother-in-law Edward and Faye Fox of Paris, Texas. He also suffered the loss of two sons, Jason and Jak Dearborn. He was also predeceased by his sister Patricia (Pat) Murehead and her husband Haskell Murehead of Paris Texas, his sister Shirley Dearborn Barnett of Bellevue, Texas, and two nephews John Barnett and Bart Wilkinson.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne of Waxahachie, Texas, his daughter Tambra of Midlothian Texas, daughter in law Tesia Dearborn of Burleson, Texas, his grandsons Jacob Dearborn of Ft. Worth, Texas, grandson Jeremy Dearborn of Godley, Texas and great grandsons Easton and Mason Dearborn, also of Godley. He leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and a few “brothers in blue”.
