In Loving Memory of Jacob Benabou

June 17, 1947 – June 24, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jacob Benabou, who left this world peacefully on June 24, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on June 17, 1947, in Casablanca, Morocco, Jacob later journeyed to Israel, where he proudly served his country and survived the Six‑Day War. He eventually settled in Montreal, building a life rooted in family, resilience, and enduring friendships. He will be remembered for his strength of character, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Jacob leaves behind his beloved children — Karene Benabou and Oren Toledano, Youval and Kat Benabou. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jayden, Ethan, Miles, Lennon, and Hart, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life.

He is also survived by his former wife, Helene, and by his cherished siblings — Joe, Albert, Dany, Michel, Esther, and Henry — along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Jacob’s journey from Morocco to Montreal was marked by courage, determination, and an unshakeable love for his family. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, wisdom, kindness, the care he extended to everyone around him, and his deep love for flowers.

Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
