He is survived by partner, Sylvia Tremblay; brother, Paul; sister, Janet LeBlanc (Donald); niece, Lindsay LeBlanc (Jonathan McKeown) nephew Graham LeBlanc (Courtney); and great-nephew Aidan. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A teacher with the Dartmouth school system for over thirty years, he was a caring and dedicated educator. Jim enjoyed creating jewelry, powder horns and other items from traditional materials, and was a keen reenactor, honouring his Mi'kmaw and Acadian ancestors and sharing his knowledge of Nova Scotian history.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday June 5, 2026 from 5 - 8pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dartmouth General for their expert care and kindness.
Donations in Jim's memory may be made to VON Canada, The Canadian Maritime Heritage Foundation or to The Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation. Online condolences may be sent by visiting: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
