James Madison Graham Jr.

September 11, 2026 Dignity Memorial

James “Jimmy” Madison Graham Jr., 69, of Carney, Maryland, passed away on September 11, 2026, while visiting his son and family in Texas. He was born on July 12, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland.

As a young man, Jimmy began a life of service by joining the United States Navy. Part of his service included time aboard the USS New Jersey, a chapter of his life he remained especially proud of. Years later, the Navy became something he shared with his son, Nicholas, when he joined the service as well. Jimmy later continued a family tradition of public service with the Baltimore County Police Department, where he served his community with relentless dedication, was recognized with the Valor Award in 1995, and soon after retired from law enforcement. He later spent time working with Ewing Oil, a part of his life he genuinely enjoyed.

Jimmy had a charismatic personality, an adventurous spirit, and a way of doing things that was distinctly his own. That adventurous side of him was often most at home outdoors, where hunting and fishing were longtime passions. For much of his life, he was someone who showed up for the people he cared about, especially his son. He was there for milestones, celebrations, ordinary visits, and many of the moments that mattered most.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Nicholas; his mother, Margaret; his wife, Leigh; his grandchildren, Beau and Lucy; his daughter-in-law, Kaela; his brother, Doug; his sisters, Cheryl, Amanda, Kyleen, and Alison; his stepdaughter, Ashley; and other relatives and friends who loved him, as well as his dog, Fynn

The mark Jimmy left on the lives of those who knew and loved him will remain long after his passing. He will be deeply missed.
